Are you trying and striving to love God with all your heart, and find you are failing?

1 John 4:19 says we love Him because he fist loved us.

This verse we need to read the last part first “He first loved us”. That means while we were still sinners, before we could even do anything “good” God loved us. No matter what we have done God loves us just the way we are. His love for us is not based on what we can do for Him, but on what Christ has done for us. We cannot do anything to make him love us more. He already loves us, He demonstrated His love by allowing Jesus to die on the cross for us.

We don’t have to try and get Him to love us because He already loves us. When we know that we are already loved then we are able to love Him with the love He has given us. We simply take hold of His love right now, by faith.

If you have been trying and striving to love God, repent and just believe. He loves you! As you do this your love for Him will grow and so will your faith as faith always works by love.

Understanding Spirit, soul and body is crucial in understanding what happened when we became born again. Without understanding we become disappointed, frustrated and live defeated lives due to a lack of knowledge and trying to see the change with our five senses.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new (2 Cor 5:17). What can this possibly mean? After being born again we still look the same, think the same, our circumstances are the same. So where did the change take place?

1 Thess 5:23 says “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”. This verse speaks about us having three parts: a spirit, soul and body. So if the change did not take place in our soul and body it must have taken place in our spirit, the part of us we cannot feel.

The moment we are born again our old spirit died and was instantly removed and replaced with a recreated spirit, the spirit of God. We become a brand new creature and everything that we would ever need in our Christian life is already in our spirit.

Would you like to find out what you already have inside your born again spirit and how to release it into your bodies?

Understanding your salvation, getting to know your Saviour more intimately and how our lives are empowered with the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is important.

It is important that we not only know the Word but understand what it is teaching us. Without understanding, the seed, that is the Word which is planted in our heart, can be stolen by Satan and you will not have any benefit of the fruit it will bring. The Christian walk is a faith walk and there will be times that we make mistakes and wonder if God can still love us in this mess we made! But the Word tells us that God loves us with the mistakes we make.

Romans 5:8 “But God comments His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Knowing and understanding a scripture like this will ensure that Satan will not steal the seed from you. As we spend time in the Word we will see that forgiveness of sin is only the start of our walk with God. He wants to be our friend and Father, not only does he want fellowship with us but also a relationship.

Our relationship with God is made complete with the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. We read that Jesus told His disciples that He has to go to be with the Father, but He will send someone in His place. He will send a Comforter and a Counsellor; The Holy Spirit. The disciples were fearful and uncertain but on the day they received the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4), they began to speak in other tongues and were filled with the miracle power that changed their lives and the lives of those around them. Speaking in tongues is evidence that you have received the Holy Spirit. When we pray in tongues, our mind does not understand but our spirit is praying the perfect prayer (1 Corinthians 14:14).

Ed Elliott: President of Word of Life World Outreach, Pastor and Vagabond Evangelist, spoke on the love of God as we have never heard before.

The God of the New Testament revealed in the Old Testament as types and shadows of the new.

Abraham (type and shadow of God the Father) sent His Servant (type and shadow of the Holy Spirit) to find a Bride (type and shadow of the Body of Christ) for Isaac (type and shadow of Jesus our Lord). The Bride to be is free to choose whether she wants to come with the servant just as free as we are to choose to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit and make Jesus Lord of our lives. The “Servant” brought gifts that the “Father” has sent, if she chooses to follow him back to his Lord to be His Bride.

If we choose to become the Body of or Lord Jesus Christ, the gifts of the Holy Spirit is ours to live life victorious in Him!
